Job Purpose

Are you passionate about unlocking the full entrepreneurial and innovative potential of a workforce? We are looking for an Entrepreneurial Human Capital Manager who views employees not just as “resources,” but as the primary drivers of our empowerment programs and competitive advantage. Unlike the traditional Human Resource role focused on administration and compliance, you will be responsible for the strategic growth, development, and retention of our talent. You will use data and empathy to ensure our people are positioned to succeed, grow, and provide a high return on investment for both themselves and the company. The EHC Manager will lead the development and implementation of effective human capital and resources policies, systems, and strategies that promote a productive, ethical, and empowering work environment. The incumbent ensures that the Institute attracts, develops, and retains competent, entrepreneurial and innovative staff aligned with ImbaHub Empowerment Institute’s vision and mission across Zimbabwe and beyond.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of an integrated Human Capital and Human Capital Strategic plan, strategies, policies, and procedures in line with the Institute’s strategic vision, mission, goals and labour laws and regulations.
  • Lead the full-cycle of entrepreneurial recruitment process through predictive hiring, , 
  • Ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and building a diverse pipeline of top-tier talent by coordinating recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for all staff and interns.
  • Oversee and lead performance management systems, employee welfare, and career development programs.
  • Participate in designing, developing and implementing the Institute’s Employee Economic Empowerment Plan (EEEP) that include profit-sharing models and employee wealth-building mechanisms and monitoring the Return On Investment (ROI) of employee economic empowerment initiatives..
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to both leadership and staff, resolving conflicts with empathy, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary and grievance procedures while promoting positive employee relations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of updated human capital and resource records, payroll data, leave management, and contracts.
  • Lead organisational human capital development initiatives that foster productivity and staff engagement. 
  • Act as a champion for our values, driving initiatives that boost employee morale, retention, and professional development.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of periodic human capital and resource reports for management decision-making.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Capital and or Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification e.g. IPMZ – an added advantage).
  • An Executive Diploma in Entrepreneurial Human Resource Management or Human Capital Management from a recognised institution.
  • Possess any leading Digital HR Certifications such as Digital HR 2.0 Certificate, People SHRM People Analytics Specialty and SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Capital and Resources management in a reputable modern agile organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of labour laws, HC and HR best practices.
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence preferred.

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Digital fluency
  • Core Digital Competencies such as people analytics and data literacy.
  • Proficiency in major platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or BambooHR.
  • Digital Employee Experience (EX) using tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Lattice to manage hybrid team engagement, pulse surveys, and remote performance tracking.
  • Entrepreneurial Leadership & Coaching
  • Ability to see employee pay not as an expense, but as a long-term investment.
  • Deep understanding that investing in employee economic empowerment is not charity but a modern business strategy.
  • Proficiency in data modeling to project the long-term impact of wealth-sharing programs.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (GDPR, POPIA, etc.) and the security protocols for handling sensitive employee data in the cloud.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication abilities.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
